See, I didn't forget I have a blog!

This post is very photo heavy, bear with me!  That seems to happen when catching up for the last month of our crazy lives.

In the spirit of 'simplifying' we've moved most of our stuff into storage and we've decided to live in our tent this summer.  Ok, maybe not all in the spirit of simplifying.  Some of it can be attributed to need for adventure, and the fact that some big changes are in the works and we're at a bit of a crossroads.  Camp is a nice, peaceful place to spend this time of transition.
I do have to say that I quite enjoy the "less" I've found this way, which is leading to a better "more".  Less housework, more laughing and hiking, less computer and phone and DVD watching, more reading and card games, less clutter and more outdoors time.  I'm loving the mornings I wake at camp to the birds and the smell of the mountains and hikes with my son.  (Can't say all of my mornings I wake there, some of my nights are spent at my mother-in-law's or a friend's house because I have such a love for running water!).  I have been making time to relax when the opportunity presents itself, much time to have quality time with Spencer and time here and there to paint.  Life is good.

So far our summer has been busy with not only camping and friends but birthdays, a trip to Utah to spend time with friends and family (we didn't want to come home!), archery, 4-H, Mandy's wedding (how she's not still 12 years old is beyond me!), visits from far away family, lots of time with cousins, many trips to the library, lots of fishing and horseback riding and so much more.  Oh, and a zillion mosquito bites. Our days are full.

I feel slightly impatient for the next phase of life to be here.  So I'm trying very hard to focus on the fact that the days are long but the years are short.  I'm embracing the moment that is now and trying to fully enjoy where I am and the people in my life while this is where I am.  Change always happens and it is so easy to look forward and miss the now.
